Christina Ricci

Christina Ricci is considered to be one of the very few people in Hollywood who have successfully made the transition from being a child star to a more mature and serious actress. Though she has seen the peak of her popularity through a string of hit movies in the 1990s, what gave her her first break was her role in a school play called The Twelve Days of Christmas, which she did when she was eight years old. Her film debut was in Mermaids (1990), which starred Cher and Winona Ryder.

Christina Ricci's ticket to fame came through the role of Wednesday Addams, the morbid little girl in The Addams Family (1991), a role that she reprised in The Addams Family Values two years later. Not only did this part set Christina Ricci for her predominantly dark and disturbed roles in her future movies, but it also opened for her the doors to instant recognition. She became a widely sought preteen actress, which led to starring roles in hit movies like Casper (1995) and Now and Then (1995)
