Anna was born in 1981 and in time became one of the best known tennis players in the world. She was known by people who did not even follow the sport.
In time, Anna's image became one of the most sought after images on the Internet and World Wide Web. Although born during the final years of the Soviet Union, Anna and her family moved to the United States when she was still a child. She currently resides in Miami, Florida.
Anna's tennis career actually ended prematurely. She essentially retired from the professional tennis circuit because of serious back and spinal afflictions. While playing, she did enjoy some success in singles although her specialty was doubles. At different times she was considered the number one doubles player in the world. She won the Grand Slam titled in Australia in 1999 and 2002.
